Keep Reading, and More

A smooth flow of English comes from a smooth flowing mind.

That's not the case when I am in front of a blank screen trying to squeeze out words like puzzles piecing up my thoughts. Ardurous. Therefore I decide to read, especially quality books, through which I could step up to the next level.

I decided to write a summary of every book that I read. As people tend to have the mania of enjoying a sense of achievement through glorious past records, so do I. A pile of book reviews will work perfect for somebody like me who needs a constant push to overcome the retardness.

NYT Best Sellers may not be a too bad choice to start with. I downloaded an amazing half a giga bite, or 76 books, into my kindle, and picked those with the most enticing cover to begin with.

Well, I read through 'Kill Alex Cross' with the attempt of the first 27 free chapters. It is not a fantastic book but it suceeded in keeping me flipping the pages. That is a very notable achievement, which explains why I get the rest of the whole thing.

The story has parallel lines telling two different incidents. One, President Coyle's two kids, Zoe and Ethan were kidnapped, and the kidnapper played a trick that mislead the Secrect Service and the Police. Two, Hala Aldolsari and her husband Tariq are executing a mission under Al Alya (The Family) to take revenge of the American people. Maybe there is three, the family story of Detective and MPD Alex Cross. His family took in a homeless girl called Ava who mugged Alex's mom Nana on the street one day. Ostensibly to me that Mr Cross enjoyed a fair work-life balance. Both his family happenings and work progresses are lively depicted.

As a reader,I eagerly expect a big conspiration behind the first two incidents where they finally come together and show a climax. To my dissapointment, they are completely separate. Even the second one have nothing in relation to the heroin, which made me kind of conjucture that the author finished off the book hastily without constructing the big frame at first. Or maybe, he purposely did so.

The story was broken up into very tiny chapters. Narration take turns from me (Alex), Hala and the kidnapper, which made the book more readable. The answer of the true suspect was revealed too quickly and not suprisingly, which reduced my reading pleasure.
